Sunken Meadow State Park first opened in 1928, it was only 400 acres. But has grown to 1,287 acres. The park is located in the town of Smithtown at the northern end of the Sunken Meadow State Parkway. The park includes 3 miles of beaches on the long island sound with a boardwalk. It also has 6 miles of hiking trails, and allows Biking.
